Overview

Design tuned to clinical realities

The new medical–surgical unit at Inova Women’s & Children’s Hospital expands inpatient capacity while strengthening the daily experience of patients, families, and caregivers. The fit-out introduces 48 patient rooms, family areas, and team collaboration zones shaped by rigorous clinical input. Borrowed light brightens core stations, and restorative staff spaces support wellbeing. Through careful coordination, detailed mock-ups, and phased construction in an active hospital, the unit now operates with clarity, efficiency, and purpose.
