Overview
Designed to deliver measurable improvements in access, responsiveness, and care coordination for the Laurel community, the new 84,000-SF facility replaces an outdated campus with a right-sized, efficient model centered on emergency, behavioral health, and outpatient services—areas where expanded capacity directly improves community health outcomes. A 20-bed emergency department and 10-bed observation unit streamline throughput, reduce transfers, and support faster clinical decision-making, while two operating suites and integrated imaging enhance on-site treatment capabilities. The flexible planning framework allows programs to expand or adapt as demand shifts, ensuring long-term value and operational resilience. By aligning clinical priorities with cost-efficient design, the project strengthens local access to timely, high-quality care and meets the community’s need for a modern, reliable point of acute and ambulatory services.
