This new specialty surgical hospital—embedded in the Abessinio Health Campus—represents a major step in Beebe Healthcare’s long-term strategy to expand access to care across coastal Delaware. By shifting orthopedic surgery and inpatient services to a purpose-built facility, Beebe relieves pressure on its legacy Lewes campus and creates space for phased modernization. The decentralized model places high-quality care closer to residents, reducing travel time and improving year-round availability. Built through an integrated project delivery approach, the hospital establishes a scalable framework ready to support future service lines, additional beds and expanded surgical capacity as community needs grow.
