Wilmot Sanz is proud to announce the advancement of Andrew Bowers to Principal. We believe in recognizing and rewarding the people who shape our firm through their dedication, leadership, and passion for healthcare design. Andrew’s promotion reflects his deep expertise, design excellence, and unwavering commitment to mentorship and collaboration—values that define our practice.

Andrew Bowers, Principal

A seasoned project manager and medical planner, Andrew Bowers, AIA, LEED AP, cLSGB, EDAC, has led a wide range of healthcare projects with particular focus on behavioral and mental health environments. From early planning and design through construction and post-occupancy evaluation, Andrew brings a holistic approach that balances creativity, functionality, and empathy.

“My focus on behavioral health hits home for me. More than one in five people in the U.S. live with mental health challenges. Through design, I want to help destigmatize these experiences and create environments that are empowering and dignified—spaces that promote safety, comfort, and healing.”

Andrew’s design leadership is rooted in a deep belief that healthcare design has the power to change lives. He brings that conviction to every project and to every team he mentors, inspiring the next generation of healthcare designers to see the field’s profound potential.

“In healthcare design, you touch so many typologies. A hospital project alone might include hospitality in patient rooms, civic spaces in grand atriums, retail in cafés and gift shops, and workplace design in administrative areas. It’s like building a micro-city under one roof—and to me, that’s incredibly rewarding.”

As Principal, Andrew looks forward to continuing to lead with purpose—advancing Wilmot Sanz’s mission to design environments that elevate the human experience and empower healing in all its forms.
