A long-standing leader within the firm and a trusted advisor to major health systems across the region, Rob brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to healthcare design—driven by a passion for innovation, operational excellence, and community impact.
As both an architect and planner, Rob exemplifies the firm’s commitment to designing with purpose. His promotion marks not only a well-deserved professional milestone but also a reflection of the critical role he plays in shaping the future of healthcare environments that are as efficient as they are healing.

As a second-generation, specialized healthcare architect, Rob’s career is rooted in a legacy of service to the built environment. He earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, and has since built a portfolio that spans the full continuum of healthcare—from campus master plans and outpatient clinics to inpatient tower expansions and greenfield hospital design.

One of Rob’s most specialized areas of expertise is in perioperative design. With more than 50 new or renovated operating rooms to his name, Rob is known for developing high-performance surgical platforms that enhance safety, flexibility, and throughput. His work spans:
Currently, Rob is leading multi-phase modernizations of surgical platforms for several major tertiary care centers, helping to future-proof critical clinical spaces while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
A Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Rob applies a process-driven lens to every project—identifying opportunities to streamline flow, reduce waste, and optimize staff efficiency through design. This performance-focused approach, combined with a relentless attention to detail and client communication, consistently results in projects that exceed expectations across metrics of quality, cost, and experience.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rob is a proud father of two, a gifted guitarist and wood turner, and a self-taught home chef with a flair for sourdough baking and whole-hog barbecues. Whether cheering on DC sports teams or relaxing by the beach with his family, Rob brings the same curiosity and creativity to his personal life that defines his work in the studio.
