Wilmot Sanz is proud to announce the promotion of Caty Tran, AIA, to Senior Associate. Having spent her entire professional career with the firm, Caty’s journey reflects the very best of Wilmot Sanz’s culture—growth through collaboration, curiosity, and dedication to design that makes a difference.

Known for her precision, creativity, and calm leadership, Caty has developed into a trusted voice across project teams and client partnerships alike. As she steps into this new role, she brings a renewed focus on mentorship, technical excellence, and innovation—qualities that continue to shape both her work and the next generation of designers.

“It’s both exciting and humbling,” Caty says. “I’ve learned so much here—from project work to teamwork—and I’m eager to take on new responsibilities that challenge me to grow while supporting others along the way.”

With her promotion, Caty will take on greater client-facing responsibilities, collaborating more directly with project teams and end users across a range of healthcare environments. Among these, she is especially eager to partner with pharmacy design teams, whose structured workflows and highly detailed requirements have long captured her interest.

Her passion for these specialized spaces stems from her appreciation of process-driven design—creating environments where every inch, every interaction, and every system supports precision and care. Caty’s enthusiasm for this complexity exemplifies her approach: thoughtful, inquisitive, and always grounded in purpose.

Beyond her project work, Caty is dedicated to strengthening the firm from within. She is currently leading efforts to update Wilmot Sanz’s ARE (Architect Registration Examination) study materials—a resource that has helped countless emerging professionals on their path to licensure.

“I remember how overwhelming that process felt at first,” she reflects. “I want to make it easier for others—to help them know where to start, find the right tools, and feel supported along the way.”

Her commitment to mentorship and professional development is deeply aligned with the firm’s culture of growth and collaboration. In addition, Caty is helping expand the firm’s Bluebeam resources, improving workflows and reinforcing consistency and efficiency across project teams.

Designing for the Future

Caty is eager to continue refining internal benchmarks, building upon collective expertise, and applying her leadership to the firm’s most complex and rewarding projects. Among her aspirations: contributing to the design of more children’s hospitals, where intricate coordination and deep collaboration translate into environments that comfort, heal, and inspire.

Her blend of technical skill, curiosity, and compassion reflects what makes Wilmot Sanz unique—design rooted in care and excellence, supported by a team that grows stronger together.

“The projects we work on are deeply meaningful,” she says. “Every day is an opportunity to learn, to mentor, and to make an impact—for our clients, for patients, and for our firm.”

With her sharp eye for detail, dedication to continuous improvement, and steady leadership, Caty Tran continues to embody the values that move Wilmot Sanz forward—one thoughtful design at a time.
